On Thursday 17 Jan 2008 a BA 777 on a flight from bejing, crash landed at LHR after suffering loss of engine power.
The pilot (first officer) did a superb job of 'landing' the stricken airliner at the threshold of LHR's southern runway on soft ground, the results of which are shown here.
Thankfully injuries were few which is a testiment to modern airliner design.
The aircraft involved was G-YMMM a Boeing 777-200 |
